A white marble Tomb building 1631 - 1648 in Agra,(Having been Designed by Giants and finished by Jewellers) seat of the Mughal Empire by Shah Jahan for his wife, the monument sums up many of the formal themes that have played through Islamic architecture. Its refined elegance is a conspicuous contrast both to the Hindu architecture of pre - Islamic India, with its thick walls, corbelled arches and heavy lintels and to the Indo Islamic styles, in which Hindu elements are combined with an electric assortment of motifs from Persian and Turkish sources.

Visit the Agra fort - situated on the banks of Yamuna river, north west of the Taj Mahal, this majestic fort was started by the Emperor Akbar and it developed as a strong hold of the Mughal Empire, under successive generations. This majestic fortness of red sandstone encompasses with in its 2.5 km long endosure walls, the imperial city of the Mughal rulers. It comprises many visionary palaces, such as the Jahagir Palace and the Khas Mahal, built by Shah Jahan, audience halls such as the Dewan E Khas and two very beautiful mosques.

Visit Fateh Pur Sikri - The Imperial city of the Mughal dynasty. It is very difficult to express the architectural grandeur city as one can only experience the aura of these forts. Famously known as the city of Ghosts, it was built by the great Mughal Emperor. Fateh Pur Sikri is a place worth visiting to discover how once the city could have been which has now turned into ruins, situated 26 miles west of Agra, it was build at orders of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. The buildings at Fateh Pur Sikri blended both Islamic and Hindu elements in their architectural style.

Jama Masjid – Built in typical Mughal style, Jama Masjid, is a wonderful specimen of Mughal love for architecture. Built in red color by Shah Jahan between 1644 and 1658, it is the largest mosque in India . Originally called the Masjid-i-Jahan-Numa, it is a Friday mosque. The mosque is situated opposite the Red Fort and is surrounded by a large number of shops. The central courtyard of mosque is capable of holding 25,000 devotees.

Humayun's Tomb – Humayun's Tomb is a beautiful mausoleum built in the mid 16th century by Haji Begum, the widow of second Mughal emperor, Humayun. Acknowledged as World Heritage Site by UNESCO, it also houses the graves of some other eminent Mughal rulers. The imposing monument is the first example of garden tomb.
Qutab Minar – Built on lines of Minaret of Jam in Afghanistan , Qutub Minar is a 72 meters high minaret located at Mehrauli in south Delhi , India . Commissioned by Qutub-ud-din Aibak in 1193 and completed by his son-in-law Iltutmish, it is a perfect example of Indo-Islamic architecture.
